A short guide to the Wildwood community

Guest passes & parking

Two guest passes and two parking permits live in the house. They belong to the property, so please leave them behind at checkout for the next guests.

• Carry a pass when you're at a community facility — one pass covers your whole group
• Display a parking permit on the dashboard whenever you park in a community lot
• Park in designated lots only, not along the roadsides; unpermitted cars can be towed
• No pass is needed to drive Wildwood roads or to park in our own driveway, which fits 3–4 cars

On the water

Our canoe and two kayaks are registered with the community and carry current stickers, so they're yours to use throughout your stay. Life jackets are provided and required.

• Outside watercraft can't be brought into Wildwood — no visiting kayaks, paddleboards, or inflatable boats. Ours are here for you instead
• Motorboats aren't permitted on the ponds; everything is paddle-powered and quiet
• No boating or fishing inside the roped swim areas, and no swimming at the boat launch
• Fishing is welcome from our dock, the shore, or a boat — no Massachusetts license needed, though state fishing laws apply, and there's a two-trout daily limit

The beaches

Four sandy beaches with bathhouses are open to you throughout your stay.

• Beach fires need written permission from the community office in advance — our backyard fire pit at the house needs no permission at all
• Smoking isn't permitted anywhere on community property, including beaches, trails, and the clubhouse
• Boats you'll see pulled up at the beaches belong to other families — please leave them be
• Gatherings of more than ten people at a community facility need to be arranged with the office in advance

Bringing a dog

We consider pets by request — just ask before booking. If you're bringing a dog, a few community rules apply.

• Dogs aren't allowed on the beaches — that includes the sand, swim, picnic, and playground areas
• They're welcome in the water via the marked rights-of-way along the shoreline
• Leashed at all times on community property, and never tied up at a beach
• The community office needs your dog registered with a current rabies certificate — please bring a copy

Quiet hours

Sound carries a long way across the water here, which is part of the appeal. Community quiet hours cover both noise and bright lights:

No parties or events, please — it's a small community and everyone hears everything.

Driving in Wildwood

• The speed limit is 15 mph throughout — the roads are shared with walkers, kids, and cyclists
• ATVs, dirt bikes, and other unregistered vehicles aren't permitted on the roads
• On busy weekends a gate attendant may be at the entrance; just give them your name and our address

Registering your stay

The community asks that every rental be registered with its office at least one business day before arrival. We handle that filing for you as part of booking — we'll just need a few details when you book:

• Name, cell, and email for whoever is the main contact
• Number of people staying, and any pets
• Make, model, color, and plate number for each car you're bringing

You'll sign a short community registration form along with the rental agreement — it takes about a minute, and confirms you've received the community rules.
